The Director will oversee the management and implementation of competitive pricing and promotional initiatives that covers both Toys R Us and Babies R Us. They will partner with the merchant, finance, and marketing teams to incorporate competitive pricing intelligence into pricing and promotion strategies and decisions that maximize sales and EBITDA.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Has full accountability of the competitive pricing decisions that are made in partnership with merchant groups/ Owns all reporting throughout the organization on performance of pricing initiatives.
Working cross functionally, has full accountability for all aspects of value communication in stores and online (signage, shelf labels, promotional placement, marketing collateral review.
Identifies issues and develops solutions to ensure pricing principles and recommendations are executed throughout the merchant organization.
Identifies, develops and manages relationships with 3rd party agencies to support price data collection; ensure quality and cost effectiveness
Develop and manage pricing tests to determine optimal prices and or price gaps vs competition
Identify competitive pricing and promotional cadences by category / key items and determine sales and EBITDA implications; partner with merchant team to support tactical pricing decisions
Coaches and mentor direct reports to develop well-rounded and focused team, who can manage the day-to-day analytics and tactics, while the director drives more process and adoption of pricing recommendations throughout the organization
Desired Skills and Experience
Education: MBA preferred, Bachelor's degree in business required
Retail or consumer goods experience preferred
Experience in implementing recommendations and actions cross functionally, 5+ years of meaningful experience
Excellent project management skills across organizations; can take broad issues, structure them into separate work streams and manage team to execute against them in a timely manner
Experience managing 3rd party entities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality of work
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work in a cross functional environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
